Letícia Tórgo is a writer, playwright, and translator from Brazil. Before arriving in Montréal in 2014, she has written the fiction book Uma janela para nove irmãos (A window for nine children) and the theater show and children’s book O príncipe dos porquês (The Prince of Why). The show was seen by more than 12,000 spectators. In June 2017, Letícia was invited to participate at the Glassco Translation Residency in Tadoussac where she did the Portuguese version of the Canadian theater show SIRI. The play was presented in Rio de Janeiro at the end of 2017 by her production company DA GAVETA/DANS LE TIROIR. At the same year, she has signed the dramaturgy of the play “Somos ici”, with Florence Bobier, presented at MAI – Montréal arts interculturels, in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Letícia has also written « Disquiet » while participating in the mentorship program of the Black Theater Workshop in 2018 and the short play “Saudade”, selected for the Tout’tout Court Festival, presented in October 2018 in Montreal. Still in 2018, Letícia translated the play “Petite Sorcière” from Pascal Brullemans from French to Portuguese. The play is expected to be produced this year in Rio de Janeiro. At this moment, she is translating “Ce que nous avons fait”, also from Pascal Brullemans.
